I always wondered why the existing smoke generation effect initiated via big smoke chat command (in 7oxicity PS server by FAAP) or some sort of other smoke screen effect wasn't incorporated into armored vehicles and keybinded to the 'C' key with it's own cooldown timer? It goes without saying that 'C' stands for countermeasures and it's quite easy to reach and thus seems like a good fit for that. Is it not as simple as one my think and does it require some kind of a workaround not worth the effort?
Apologies if I'm asking nonsensical questions, but I have no insight into inner-workings of Crysis's C++ code.
Also, what do you think about instead of generating a single large smoke screen from vehicle's position, multiple (3 to 5) smoke grenades are launched in the direction of where the turret is facing? Would that create too many smoke screen bilboards requiring a lot of "expensive" alpha blending and thus potentially ruin your average player's in-game performance.
