"The real cheats are probably still much bigger problem than in-game glitches"
Of course. And because automatical detection is not possible, that first person spectator mod would be helpful :)
"1) smart cheaters - probably quite small group of people"
Exactly, like that 100% accurate punch "trick" we could observe few years ago. I can't figure it out still :) That was smart cheat, not a skill for sure ;)
"2) rude veterans using unknown and highly unfair glitches against others"
Well I've seen that with MESA wall hacks. One of veterans in 2015 on Mesa Nostalgia was overusing it all the time, including hiding inside walls. He hated me later for saying it's not fair. But I know what you mean with that. People like that just can't understand that it's not fair to use it on people, especially for those who don't know the glitch and don't even know if they die because of lack of skills or cheat or glitch or something else :(
"By the way, there's quite a lot of tutorials showing important and nice in-game glitches to new players. As a result, there are so many scroll jumpers today."
Unfortunately I'm guilty of scroll jumping being more popular :o Before 2013 I saw it being used by 2 or 3 players, who were talking about it but not showing details (first time in 2011 I've seen that) - and I rememer when I made my first video tutorial about it - in Feb 2013 ( "Crysis 1 - Advanced Wall Jumping - Tutorial" ) showing basic scroll jumping (I wasn't advanced yet) and how mr Glob der hated me the same month for revealing "the deep secret" and not keeping it to myself :) But this is what I was talking about: There are only two ways - everybody knows about glitches and tricks - so everybody can use them or nobody should use them - otherwise it works like like a cheat or even hack for others.
Luckily I didn't show exactly how to switch to scroll jumping (with images/video) counting on the intelligence of watchers (not for ignorants version who don't respect anything) but it was there in text at the beginning of the video already 6 years ago :)
Before I made that video I was also against scroll jumping but because 2-3 people were using it and showing off with it on all servers, making fun of others that they "can't jump so high", calling them "noobs" or "stupid" - after making the video I thought it can at least become the official way and free to use and allowed for everybody.
"Some people even say that it ruins the game, when everyone is jumping all over the place and killing others from back or using it to escape from fights. Personally, i think it's OK, but i still prefer "low-end" right-click wall jumps. "
I agree, some so called "pro" fighters were using it to escape, all the time. You know at least one of the name. And of course it's the first natural "reflex" when you are about to die and you know the trick to save yourself :) Not fair always. But if everybody could use it and fight in mid air (just like Circle Jumping Flyers were back in the days) - that would be OK. But of course there can be always a rule to not use any Wall Jumping during the fight. For me it would suck a lot, since this is what Crysis is about. But everything should be based on agreement between players. Like a friendly fight. Not as we could see before - some arrogant pro aimers, pro boxers and pro jumpers using everything against others just on purpose, even when they've been asked to stop that. Don't think it can be solved - unless we just meet and play in small groups of friends where trust is not a problem and nobody comes to piss others off :)
BTW - it's easy to make maps and servers where any wall jumping won't work at all. Just like I've made it on "Realism BF3 Mode" server. No problem with that at all :) Something for those who prefer more "retarded" MP game, like Crysis Wars :) So something to try out on some IA event soon - just running and shooting on Steel Mill, can be fun but far for all the glory of Crysis 1 MP. Possible as an option. No boxing, no walljumping... nice way to die. Handicap event version.
"Anyway, if some new player wants to know something about the game, he (or she :D) can always use this forum to ask, right? "
Haha, well not really. Some people in game are too shy even to ask on forum, or lazy to do so. They prefer to leave the game forever than find out how many great skills it can bring and that not all they see is cheating. "I died 10 times in a row, this game sucks, cheaters all over me, I quit forever" :) Most of people won't bother asking - as you can see here - this forum, during 4 years was the proof of that. So you're talking about some different community... Not gamers for sure, maybe "talkers" like me ha ha :)
